Kalmar Races 2007

The corporate crew races on the Christina River returned as the Kalmar Races took place on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m.

As 2006 champions, DuPont returned to defend their title and the City of Wilmington and The Buccini/Pollin Group were back in the action as well. Joining the returning teams on the water was Christiana Hilton, Werb & Sullivan, Prudential, Fox & Roach and Mitchell Associates.

DuPont maintained its championship status, The Buccini/Pollin Group came in second and Werb & Sullivan came in third place.

Spectators gathered during and after the race at Conley Ward's for a party and awards ceremony.

Guest bartenders for the night were Jackie Ivy of The Buccini Pollin Group, John Rago from the City of Wilmington, Chef James Lauser from the Christiana Hilton, and Jerry DuPhily from TSN Publishing.

The proceeds from the event benefited the Wilmington Rowing Center and the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation.

Some spectators enjoyed the races from a VIP viewing area on the Kalmar Nyckel.

The VIP tickets were $25 and included complimentary Twin Lakes beer and appetizers from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. Tickets for this special offer were limited!

After the races, the VIPs headed to Conley Ward's for the after party and awards ceremony.
