State of the Downtown

With more and more private investment, exciting events and progressive initiatives happening in the City of Wilmington each day, the power of partnerships is more relevant than ever before. WRC is proud to one of the key partners in Wilmington's progress.

Wilmington is experiencing a powerful synergy and the partnerships are resulting in an even greater city. WRC is poised to continue its partnership in the city and bring even more success to Wilmington!

The 2008 State of the Downtown, was held at the Sheraton Suites on March 12. The event was an opportunity to share WRC's 2007 accomplishments and the organization's path forward.

In addition, attendees heard about the progress happening in the city from the other speakers.

The speakers this year included Clarence Wright, Main Street Wilmington Manager sharing the story of the programs first year; Jackie Ivy of The Buccini/Pollin Group speaking about the companies many investments along Market Street which will change the face of the main artery; and John Rago, policy advisor and communications director for Mayor James Baker, who shared insight into the city's new image campaign.
